CMS Realty Core Component |

|
Instructions on setting up CMS Realty. Please
refer to the version history page for a list of changes.
Upgrading from Previous Versions
There is no
upgrade path. Uninstall any older versions and install the latest
version. Any menu items created for the older version may still work
although it is recommended that they be replaced.
1) Install Mambo (v4.5.4)
If you do not know how how to install Mambo click here.
2) Install Open-Realty (version 2.4.0 or later)
But not in the same directory as your Joomla installation. It is also
recommended that you use the same database as your Joomla installation.
If you choose to use a separate database for Open-Realty then you must
access it with a different username to your Joomla database. For
example, if you access your Joomla database with username 'fred' then do not use 'fred' to access your Open-Realty database.
If you do not know how to install Open-Realty click here.
Configure Open-Realty
Log on to Open-Realty (e.g. http://www.yoursite.com/openrealty/admin),
go to the Site Config page and select the following options:
- URL Type - Standard URL
- Site Template - cms_integration
- Administrative Template - cms_admin_template
3) Setup the CMS Realty Component
Download the latest version .
- Log on to your Joomla administrators page, e.g. www.yoursite.com/administrator
- Go to the Components menu and select Install/Uninstall (the top item)
- From this page select the Browse button and select the com_cmsrealty_mambo.zip file from your local drive.
- Hit the Upload File & Install button.
Assuming you get a Success message the component should now be installed. To configure it:
- From the Components menu select CMS Realty
- Enter the full path (with trailing slash) to your Open Realty installation, e.g. /home/yoursite/public_html/openrealty/
- To enable user integration check the Enable User Integration checkbox. Read the user integration notes.
- Click Save
4) Create Joomla Menu Items
Create at least one menu item to point to Open-Realty by creating a
Component menu item and selecting CMS Realty from the component list. Save
it by clicking Apply.
Choose an Open-Realty page for the menu item to display by selecting an
item from the 'Open-Realty Page' dropdown list. Save the menu item.
You can also use more advanced options instead, by entering Open-Realty
URL query strings in the 'Open-Realty Parameters' text field. Entering
text here will take precedence over the dropdown list so be sure that
you understand what you are doing before using this option.
For example, to show the Open-Realty search page enter:
action=searchpage

Searchbot |
|
|
The Searchbot requires the CMS Realty Core Component to be installed. Visit the downloads page to get the latest releases.
It requires that you use the same database for both Mambo and
Open-Realty. If you have set these up using separate databases then you
may still be able to get this to work as long as you access these
databases with different usernames and passwords.
Install
the searchbot via the Joomla mambot installer. Once installed, go to your Mambots => Site Mambots menu and edit the following parameters:
- Ensure the CMS Realty Searchbot is published.
- Associate a menu item with the listings linked to by the search results.
It is not necessary to
set this value but is useful if you have different module and templates
displayed on different pages.
- Set the Descriptions Fields - this must be set. It defines which Open-Realty listing field to display as a description in search results. If you are unsure, log on to your Open-Realty administration page, go to Edit Listing Template, find the field you would like displayed, and copy the Field Name entry.

Featured Listings Module |
|
The Featured Listings Module requires the CMS Realty Core Component to be installed. Visit the downloads page to get the latest releases.
It requires that you use the same database for both Mambo and
Open-Realty. If you have set these up using separate databases then you
may still be able to get this to work as long as you access these
databases with different usernames and passwords.
Install
the module via the Mambo module installer. During installation a single
Open-Realty Featured Listings module will be created.
The
module administration page allows you to choose what pages it is
displayed on, the module orientation, and the number of featured
listings to display.
You may also want to associate a CMS Realty
menu item with the listings linked to by the featured listing module.
It is not necessary to
set this value but is useful if you have different module and templates
displayed on different pages.

CMS Realty Classes Module |
|
|
The CMS Realty Classes Module requires the CMS Realty Core Component to be installed.
Once installed a single instance of the module will be created. Go to
your Modules => Site Modules menu, click the CMS Realty Classes module, and edit the following parameters:
- Associate a menu item with the listings linked to by the search results.
It is not necessary to
set this value but is useful if you have different module and templates
displayed on different pages.
- Set the Sub-Category Name.
This is also optional and allows you to use any Open-Realty listing field as a sub-menu. To find a listing field, log on to your Open-Realty
administration page, go to Edit Listing Template, find the field you
would like displayed, and copy the Field Name entry.
Example
To set up a menu with the property classes as the top level menu, and the city as a submenu you'd enter 'city' into the Sub-Category Name. If you created a listing in Open-Realty with a class of Home, and city Auckland, The top-level Home menu with sub-menu Auckland would be dynamically created.
